of Islamic Capitals and Cities Awards

Sixth Cycle 1425 H/2004 A.D.

Award's Goals

Support OICC's goals to preserve Identity and heritage of Islamic capitals and cities and enhance sustainable development in them.
Encourage experts and specialists to write and publish in municipal fields to enrich Islamic library with scientific researches and references based on scientific cotemporary style and related to Islamic environment and heritage.
Encourage municipalities, owners, architectural and urban designers, environmental experts, authors, experts, contractors and heritage craftsmen to adopt the methodology of preserving the identity and heritage of Islamic capitals and cities.

Nomination for Awards

The following bodies have the right to nominate applicants for Awards:

1.	OICC members.
2.	Universities, Institutes and Research Centers in Islamic world.
3.	Islamic Unions and Vocational Associations.
4.	Organizations and Institutions in Islamic world.

The aforementioned bodies are requested to prepare the nomination documents including five copies of book or project or scientific research, relevant documents, details, photographs, plans, designs, curriculum vitae, and scientific production of the nominee, in addition to their opinions and justifications for nomination.
Documents should be submitted to the member capital or city with view to be sent in the due time to the Organization's General Secretariat, attached with opinions and justifications regarding the nomination.

The deadline for receiving nominations by OICC General Secretariat:

Saturday 1 Shaba'an 1424 H (27 September 2003).

A w a r d s

The winner or winners together of the first Awards will be granted ten thousands USD or its equivalent, in addition to OICC's shield of the first rank and certificate of recognition.
The winner or winners together of the second Awards will be granted OICC's shield of the second rank and certificate of recognition.
OICC will cover the expenses of winner's travel to receive his award, and the capital or city hosted the activities of the General Conference will cover the expenses of the winner's accommodation.
If the winner of each branch of the Awards is one of governmental authorities or municipalities or governorates or owner or contractor will be granted OICC's shield from the first rank and certificate of recognition.
The first winner has the right to donate the value of the award to OICC, and OICC will announce his donation and invite him to attend the ceremony of awards distribution.
